The Devils finished out their brief, season-opening road trip with a 3-2 loss in Tampa to the Lightning. The Devils roared out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes, but Tampa battled back to take the lead in the third period.
Though the Devils only took one of a possible four points on the road, there are some reasons for optimism, after a strong showing against one of the NHL’s best teams.
